Le Maquis

- - In Le Maquis, meaning `scrub` or `bush` in French, Raza uses shades of yellow, brown and green to suggest a landscape overrun by tangled undergrowth. Also used loosely as `maze`, Le Maquis communicates an atmosphere in which nature is omnipresent and omnipotent. It is a presence that inspires respect, rendering the viewer diminutive and defenseless. Nevertheless, through a few breaks in the bush, patches of blue and white sky illuminate the scene
