- - Although Raza has spent almost his entire career focusing on the genre of landscape, whether through academic realism or expressionistic, geometric and post-painterly abstractions, there was a short period in the mid-1950`s that the artist turned to figuration. As he was experimenting with new media in France, Raza created several figurative drawings, and even a few paintings that featured human figures.
