Training at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, for 5 years provided the perfect mould for her creativity. Art helped to deeply feel and understand the shades of life, the understanding of which would not have been possible otherwise.
The process of creativity calls for an exploration of the subconscious mind. The artist dives within and comes out with fascinating images of life with its realities and mysteries.
Nature inspires her. It moves to peace and stillness and also moves the mind to a journey of inner experiences. While the human images go flitting across the canvas with a backdrop of nature, Puja’s preoccupation and concern has also been that of a woman’s life.
The work being mainly figurative, Aruna Bhowmick, an eminent art critic, says –
"Carefully intended, every stroke and daub has specific implications, lyrically placed and smoothly incorporated".
The backdrop of work has also emerged from childhood images moving from Kashmir to Jabalpur and that of a childhood spent in the idyllic setting of nature.
Art has grown, imposed itself and acquired an immediacy of expression in her life. The concerns and explorations of the myriad colours of human life continue….
